John and Rose-Marie have a great team of nine Franchisees that service the Waikato area. Their region covers Raglan to near Te Aroha, Te Kauwhata to TeKuiti. But the bulk of our work is in Hamilton City and then Ngaruawahia/ Huntly, Te Awamutu, Cambridge.
Hamilton is rapidly expanding, fueled by the new expressway and ring road construction, the distance between those outlying towns and Hamilton reducing and filling up with new subdivisions and lifestyle blocks. The challenge is to build the a team to meet demand and extend Crewcuts presence throughout the region.
John and Rose-Marie previously farmed a hill country Sheep/Beef unit in Raglan for 25 years. They have worked together for the entire 29 years of their marriage and it just didn’t sit right when they left farming to work in separate jobs.
Dust of the lawnmowers, here we come! We thought we were fit working on the farm, but we soon discovered a few new aches and pains that first season! Now we are fitter and get real satisfaction from turning an overgrown, neglected garden into a place to be enjoyed again. Pet hate – send all native plants back to the bush!
The seasons have been a challenge since they started. First year it rained (bucketed at times) right through the Summer so grass was "growing out their ears" after a hard Winter, but the last two have been drought so it has been difficult for the team to maintain a regular mowing schedule, fingers crossed for a good Spring/Summer/ Autumn this season!
