Having run his own motel in Cambridge for six years, Jarrod from Tauranga was ready for a change. He was looking for something that would give him a flexible lifestyle and would keep him active and fit in the process. In November 2020, he purchased a Crewcut franchise, offering various lawn and garden services throughout Papamoa, Welcome Bay, Mangatapu, and Ohauiti.

Jarrod is the man to see for all your tree pruning, green waste removal, hedge trimming, gardening, weed spraying, prickle spraying, water blasting, and gutter cleaning needs. He has his trusty Testarossa Kohler mower, Masport Contractor mower, Husqvarna line trimmer and electric chainsaw (among other tools) to get the job done, as well as a friendly attitude to impress his customers.

He believes dealing with customers as a motel owner put him in the right position to do right by his Crewcut clients. He is thankful that he is able to relate well to people from all walks of life and thinks this has prepared him for steady growth and building up a good client list. He is aiming for a less-is-more approach, with around 80 valued clients whom he can service regularly.

Jarrod says he’ll be working on the business mostly by himself, but his mother may help at times as she has a wealth of practical knowledge and extremely green fingers. When the working day is over, you’ll find him immersed in his own gardens, cycling, and playing music. He also helps out with his partner’s business, assisting in website stuff, painting, or changing her retail shop around.

He mentions that he didn’t realise how big the Crewcut group in his area was prior to joining, and adds that he has certainly gotten fitter from six months ago when he joined. Now that he’s part of the team, Jarrod is ready to stand out in Tauranga’s suburbs through his specialised services.
