Donna had an interesting career working as a cook in an early childhood centre, which she quit five months ago to start her Crewcut business. “I have always enjoyed mowing lawns,” Donna shares. She said the promise of a better work-life balance so she could spend more time with her family was also a factor in her decision to make this move.

When asked about her goal for the franchise, she had this to say: “I want to provide a friendly, professional service to all my customers so they know I can be relied upon to keep their lawns looking great.” Now that she’s working side by side with a great friend who helps her on the operational side of the business, she believes she’s on track. Her foremost skills namely her attention to detail, friendliness and regular communication with customers, time management, and consciousness about H&S are also helping her grow her base. Her advice to newcomers in the business is to always save for a rainy day and to not take anything for granted.

Donna says the biggest thing she’s learned since joining Crewcut is that organisation is the key to success. She also adds that joining Crewcut has taught her how to reverse a trailer!

On her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, decorating cakes, and spending time with her daughter.
