Welcomed to the Crewcut family are the new franchise operators in Kaitaia: Matthew and Joyce. This power duo shows that you don’t have to be working long in the trade to run a lawn and garden business successfully.

Servicing the region known as the gateway to the far north or to 20+ iconic bays and beaches for 7 months now, Matthew and Joyce go above and beyond offering lawn mowing and weed eating to Kiwi households. Having previously worked on diggers for a housing company, they take with them their valuable experience in customer service – just this time, trimming and clearing the lawns instead of digging through them.

Using their preferred tools, the Walker Ride On Mower and Husqvarna weed eater, they make sure they pay attention to details and that their customers get what’s required of them as they believe these are the desirable skills they have in the business. With a son who helps them every now and then, they also get to go on fishing, and diving, and still have time relaxing especially from a big day out mowing lawns.

At present, aside from the business side, Matthew and Joyce have learned the importance of maintaining your equipment so as to avoid machinery breakdown on the job. Knowing a few more things now, they’re confident to leave a word of advice for people who may also just be new to the business as they were seven months ago, saying “Listen to your customers but also be honest with your customers”.
