Even though Darren is Australian, you won’t hold that against him when you see the care and precision of his lawn care services. From push and ride-on lawn mowing through to line trimming and gardening for his regular clients, Darren does it all. He’s a man of many talents and even takes care of his invoicing and bookwork.

Darren used to be a cable joiner in Australia and also did an apprenticeship as a fitter machinist. However, his wife is from New Zealand, and he loves everything the country has to offer. After holidaying in New Zealand often, he decided to move here permanently. That was back in 2014, and he hasn’t looked back.

Instead of working for someone else and lining their pockets, he chose to make “honest pay for honest work”. With a friend in Crewcut already, he purchased a franchise and got right to work. He’s now the man to call for lawn mowing and other lawn care tasks in Waikato and Piringa, Hamilton.

Darren takes pride in doing a job properly and has been working on condensing his work area. If he can travel less, he can spend more time satisfying his customers’ requirements. He believes that you should go hard or go home, and that shows in his level of service. 

Darren has learnt a lot since he began with Crewcut, including customer management, invoicing, and bookwork. He also sees the value in choosing high-quality equipment that will work well and last you a long time. 

While he doesn’t have a lot of spare time, he uses what he has to watch rugby – both on TV and of his son’s games. He also likes to go fishing when time allows.
