Our History
Crewcut began back in 1991 when the founder David Serville saw a growing need for reliable, quality lawn and garden services. He initially saw lawn mowing as a healthy business lifestyle, which would provide him with solid income and freedom of self employment. David started out the lawn rounds as a part-time commitment but the demand for his services outgrew the capability of a sole-operator. He then began selling off his lawn mowing rounds to other operators. However it soon became clear that the customers he sold were not getting the great level of services they were accustomed to.
As a result of this, David created the Crewcut Franchise Group to maintain consistency and quality of service throughout the brand. From this point onward, Crewcut franchises have been sold from the top of the North Island down to Invercargill. Collectively there are now around 200 franchisees looking after 40,000 Kiwi lawns and backyards. Crewcut is now a household name synonymous with friendly service and quality lawn and garden maintenance.
