Jason is part of the team at Crewcut Christchurch offering a range of lawn and garden services. These include lawn mowing, hedge trimming, weeding, general gardening, and shrub trimming in the city’s residential suburbs. He uses tools such as his Echo hedge trimmer and blower, Testarossa mower, and Stihl electric hedge trimmer.

Before starting his own business, Jason had been working within the health sector for 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges that this provided. In July 2020 a review of his position was proposed and by August the outcome was finalised. His position was to be dis-established and by October he was made redundant.

During this time, Jason was able to evaluate what was and is important and to see if there were ways to achieve a better work/ life balance. There were a variety of opportunities he was able to pursue, but after careful consideration being self-employed would suit himself and his family best. In April 2021 he decided to join Crewcut, the leading Lawn Care business in Christchurch.

Jason’s goal is to provide great customer service and consistent results. He believes this will lead to customer satisfaction and will help to grow his business through word of mouth.

Jason’s best skills are his excellent and consistent standard of work and his friendly and approachable personality. He always listens to, and works with his clients to achieve the best possible outcome for them, while also trying to exceed their expectations.

When he isn’t working, Jason loves spending time with his family, who are actively involved with summer and winter sports. His idea of free time involves relaxing, watching a movie, reading, enjoying a good glass of wine and taking the dog for a walk.

“One thing I've learned and now know is that stress is a killer. Take the time to smell the roses, spend time with family and friends and do what is important to you and those that you love. I would advise anyone who is entering this industry to keep it simple, be patient, and don't give up. Remember, you are earning an income from meeting great people, mowing their lawns and pulling their weeds. You are outside, the sun is on your back and you're enjoying listening to your favourite music.”

“Life is good.”
